Last week I lost my mind.
Recovered it slowly over ashes
and heaps of dirty laundry
that I threw out into the street.
It’s okay to delete pictures
in which you were happy
and thinking nothing would change.
Normal, to accept silence begrudgingly
and erase messages without reading.
Just don’t take your disappointment to the dark place.
Where new hopes and dreams cannot grow.
After all, holding your breath for too long can be painful.
Pick up the pieces. Clean up the mess.
Reorganize to the best of your ability.
If all else fails and you are still feeling stuck
just remember to breathe…most importantly.
